OSI Offers Project Management Workshops

In Spring 2019, the Office of Strategic Initiatives (OSI) offered a series of project management workshops. The first series, conducted for the Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA), included an overview of the fundamentals of project management as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Additional workshops designed for Initiative Owners and their teams addressed specific knowledge areas.

The first workshop, Stakeholder Engagement, focused on strategies to identify stakeholders, both internal and external, analyze their needs and develop engagement strategies. The second workshop, Risk Analysis and Planning, helped participants identify risks, assess the probability/impact and develop mitigation and contingency plans. The third workshop, Effective Project Communication, focused on the importance of communication planning and selecting the best communications strategy for each stakeholder.
