Diamond Room Dedication

On January 9, the University of Arizona College of Law and the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program honored Professor James Diamond by naming a new classroom space after him. Located in Rountree Hall, the James D. Diamond Room features a 9-foot round mesquite table that was handmade by Ingnacio “Nacho” Ramirez, a Yaqui woodworker with over sixty years of woodworking experience.

The James D. Diamond Room was made possible by a generous gift from James and his wife, Marian Salzman, to the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program and the Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement Strategic Initiative.

Additional photos of the Dedication event are available on the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program’s Facebook page. More information about the UArizona Strategic Plan and the initiative to Institutionalize Commitment to Native American Advancement is available here.
