ACE Fellows Learn about the UArizona Strategic Plan

On January 7, seventeen current ACE (American Council on Education) Fellows gathered in Tucson for a reception at the Office of Strategic Initiatives. Items on the agenda included a welcome from President Robbins, an overview of the UArizona Strategic Plan from Dr. Jane Hunter, Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, and a Q&A about the strategic planning process. The ACE Fellows Program, which was established in 1965, has been the training ground for almost 2,000 deans, vice presidents, and other emerging leaders and provides a customized learning experience for participants. The ACE Fellows immerse themselves in the study and practice of leadership at  a host university, where they contribute to special projects and assignments while being mentored by experienced campus leaders. At the end of the fellowship year, the ACE Fellows return to their home institutions to share new knowledge and skills.

Last fall, UArizona was proud to host Dr. Rhonda Phillips, Dean, Honors College and Interim Dean, Libraries and School of Information Studies at Purdue University. Dr.Phillips and the other ACE fellows participated in a full-day strategic planning workshop offered by The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) while visiting Tucson.
